After leaving San Pedro behind us in the west we cross the Salt Mountain Range and make a 45 minute drive towards the Lagunas Escondidas de Baltinache (Hidden Lagoons of Baltinache).
With its intense crystal turquoise water the seven salt lagoons greets us and gives a panoramic view over the salt mountain range as well as the snowy peaks of the andes.
You might like to take a relaxing bath in one of the lagoons? Here the water have such a high concentrate of salt that you easily can float around feeling weightless, enjoying the solitude in one of the deserts wonder.

The Hidden Lagoons of Baltinache
About 60 kilometers outside the village of San Pedro de Atacama, at the foot of the Cordillera de la Sal, you will find the Baltinache Hidden Lagoons.
The site with its seven lagoons of crystal clear waters of an impeccable transparency and turquoise color that contrasts with the white salt from its edges, represents this incredible landscape attraction. Due to the high salinity of the water you will float – a bath in the lagoons into an unforgettable experience.
The bath is only allowed in some of the lagoons, which invites you to also take a walk along the established path, enjoying the natural beauty and tranquility of this sector.
There is an area for shower and bath services. Since the water in the showers is limited, we carry tanks of water for you to be able to remove the salt from the skin.
The Baltinache Lagoons are managed by the indigenous community of Coyo.
